Expendable Marking Module

This module provides the Operator the ability to quickly mark and identify objects and small areas for investigation, using several different methods.

This module contains a generous supply of each component, more than what can be contained in Internal Pouch 12. The pouch is intended to be used for carrying only the components required for the task at hand and can be resupplied from the extra quantities provided.

Paint Crayon – This bright orange weather and UV-resistant solid paint crayon marks through oily, icy, wet, dry, and cold surfaces. It works effectively in temperatures ranging from -45°C to 66°C (-50°F to 150°F). It is lead-free and nontoxic and marks easily on metal, glass, plastic, lumber, cement, cardboard and rubber, as well as rough, rusty, and dirty surfaces.

Chalk Line Powder Bottle – The 8oz marking chalk may be used to mark objects or areas of interest. It is applied directly to the surface area by dispensing the chalk using the squeeze bottle container. It marks the area with a bright blue chalk, made of calcium carbonate and silica crystalline. It is odorless and resists moisture.

Drain Seal Self-Adhesive – The self-adhesive drain seals are made from vulcanized rubber and feature two lines of interlocking security cuts which are intended to be positioned on either side of the opening. If opened, the seal tears along this perforation, while remaining in place to show signs of tampering. Each seal has two strips of mastic for ease of application. The seal remains pliable when used for uneven or unstable surfaces with excellent resistance to harsh environmental conditions. Each seal measures 70mm x 70mm (2.8” x 2.8”).

Mine Tape – White and Orange – Highly visible polyethylene white and orange flagging tape with a thickness of 2 mil. It is 30mm (1.2”) wide, UV resistant and is functional in a temperature range of -29°C to 68°C (-20°F to 155°F). Can be used in conjunction with marking flags for enhanced visibility.

Internal Pouch 12 – This pouch is made from rugged, abrasion-resistant fabric and features a mesh pocket on the interior lid, and elastic loops on the interior base. The pouch has a double slider zipper closure. The rear of the pouch features Velcro Hook and two MOLLE straps with snaps to provide a variety of attachment options.
